Advent Services - 2025
Starting Wednesdays in December, OSLC will be hosting Advent services for 2025. We will begin a 6 PM with a soup and bread meal. Following at 7 PM will be the Advent service.
Advent is a time of preparation and reflection on the coming of Christ, both in his Nativity and his anticipated return. Advent involves themes of hope, peace, joy, and love as we prepare ourselves for upcoming birth of Jesus Christ, Our Saviour.
Feeding the homeless
For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, Matthew 25:35
On December 20th, OSLC will be feeding the homeless off Virginia Beach. Starting at 6PM, we will meet at Bayside Presbyterian Church to prepare and serve the most needed of our community. We need both volunteers for the event and food donations. Signup sheet is in the narthex. Reach out to Cheryl Wolfe if you have questions about how to help.
Senior Luncheon
January 8th
Starting at 11:30 AM in the fireplace room, the OSLC Senior group will be hosting their monthly luncheon. Come join the fun as all ages are welcome.
Little Dresses for Africa
Sundays at 9:30am in the library. Next sessions will be January 11th.
Join us for our next sessions in this long-established project at OSLC, where we have been creating dresses for girls in Africa since 2014. This initiative transforms donated pillowcases into beautiful dresses, utilizing the guidelines set forth by “Little Dresses for Africa” and embellishments like ribbons and buttons.
Help us support this global community project and contribute to the over 600 dresses that our volunteers at OSLC have created and donated. No prior sewing experience is necessary to participate.
DIY Craft Day
Come join the FUN on DIY Craft Saturday, January 3rd from 10AM to 2PM. Bring your own craft project to work on; maybe you have new idea or an idea for the spring / Easter you would like to start. Pack your own lunch and join in a unique way of fellowship. Meet in the fireplace room.
Annual Meeting
2026
The OSLC Annual meeting will be held on January 18th. There will be a single service that Sunday starting at 9:30AM. The annual meeting will begin immediately after the service. We will be reviewing and approval of the budget, reviewing the committee reports, and electing 2 new council members.
